ESPN Roto 6×6 keeper league

First draft of the year done and dusted, went pretty well, 14 teams, 21 rounds plus some make up picks for those that hadn’t kept 5, all done in about an hour and forty minutes.  A little slow to start with as one owner wasn’t there and it was agreed that we would take just about the full minute to make our picks until he arrived, which was about 20 mins in.

I don’t ever remember being happy with any draft I have ever done, and this one was no exception, which is not to say I’m unhappy with it but there is a degree or uncertainty with it that I don’t usually feel, such as; why the hell did I take Sean Rodriguez?  I have to assume that ESPN’s projections were a damn sight more enticing than the RotoChamp ones above? I think there are concerns about the playing time for Rayburn and Moreland, maybe Crisp as well?  Arencibia might have been a bit of a reach, but alternatives will be available on the waiver wire.  Bay’s production remains imponderable but I drafted him at a point where I still think it was a value pick.  Hoping Huff can get close to his 2010 season and that Wells has shaken off the weight of the Toronto contract now he is in Anaheim.

Not too many questions about the starting pitching, other than the omnipresent one regarding Big Z’s mental welfare, however the RotoChamp projections for HOLDS is a bit of a concern.  Zero for both Jansen and Ogando?  I was also hoping Sale would be getting the closer job on the South Side but the wind appears to be blowing in Thornton’s direction and leaves me looking a little light on SAVES.

RotoChamp did project me in 1st place when I had put in 95% of the draft data, but I found I had omitted about 7 players and put one player in the wrong team and after making adjustments I now project to 3rd with 104 points, 12 behind the projected winner.  There were also 3 players which I couldn’t find in the RotoChamp database, Bobby Parnell, David Hernandez and Jason Isringhausen?  So still not the quite the full picture.

Injuries aside, I don’t see anything crying out to be addressed before Opening Day but may have to jettison a position player for another pitcher?
